BRIDGEWATER-ROXBURY-WASHINGTON â Superintendent Megan Bennett informed the Region 12 Board of Education, meeting Monday, February 22, that Region 12 staff will finally be able to have access to the Covid-19 vaccine.
In accordance to Gov. Ned Lamontâs recent update, teachers and school staff members, including bus drivers and other personnel, are officially qualified to receive the Covid-19 vaccine, starting March 1. Gov. Lamont said on February 22 the state will continue with an age-based approach to expand eligibility for the vaccine, extended to include educators and child care providers at dedicated clinics in March.
He noted that previouslt planned scenarios proved to be overly complex and confusing and could slow down the process of providing vaccines to Connecticut residents.

BEACON FALLS By 10 a.m. most school days, Vicki DeLucia, head school nurse at Woodland Regional High School, already has called the Naugatuck Valley and Chesprocott health districts about eight times to discuss COVID-19 issues.
While on those phone calls, DeLucia looks across the hallway into a room that served as a world languages classroom last year. That room now has four cots spaced 4 feet apart with dividers between each. This is where students go when they show COVID-19 symptoms.
