Boone Salvation Army seeks bell ringers, Red Kettle goal is $36K

“One of the oldest sayings of the Salvation Army is ‘need knows no season.’”
These are the words of Boone Salvation Army Lt. James Beardsley. As of Dec. 12, the Boone Salvation Army has raised $18,036.70 of its $36,000 Red Kettle goal, which goes until Christmas Eve. But bell ringers are in short supply this holiday season.
“Whenever we have a spot open, that’s funds we’re not raising,” he said.
Volunteers can register to ring those iconic bells at registertoring.com.
Despite the hardships of COVID-19, Beardsley said the organization has collected about the same amount of funds as it did this time last year.
