The most recent national guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are relaxing restrictions for people who are fully vaccinated. Local leaders have relied on guidelines from the CDC since the start of the pandemic. The current Columbia/Boone County health order mandates masks while inside and for people within 6 feet of each other outside. The most recent CDC guidance suggests, whether vaccinated or not, people may walk, run, or bike outdoors with members of their household. People who have not gotten the coronavirus vaccine can also attend small, outdoor gatherings safely provided that they wear a mask.
