week of august. so people are booking less travel. big reversal from june when they were nearly back to 2019 levels. google pushing back its return to the office again. employees around the world won t be required to go back to their offices until at least january 2022. there is the second time google has delayed a full return to office. google joins facebook and amazon with return to work dates in january. lyft, it will be february. others like peloton, apple and uber are sticking to plans to reopen in october. but i think that you can expect flexibility there. a year ago you couldn t get away from zoom and now the boom looks like it is starting to fade. zoom stock fell more than 15% and now negative for the year. revenue grew, but down harply from the 35% growth during the height of the pandemic. and sales are starting to cool as there is more video in the
boom, right? well, how much of that boom looks like what i saw on my trip to the gulf? untethered from its pickets, unanchored, piled up on the shore doing absolutely nothing because nobody s around to maintain it. if you know absolutely nothing about how to use boom to protect shoreline from oil, from anything encroaching that you want to keep off that shoreline, if you know absolutely nothing about it, you probably still know enough to know that this isn t supposed to be what it looks like. what we re seeing right here, we re in cam nada bay, you can see these bamboo poles sticking up, in this big line here, the poles stretch behind me. those poles are supposed to be the anchor holding that absorbant boom in place. it s not working all that well. we re here with dr. mike blum from tulane, professor of
