Drummer Brentnol Cabbage McPherson, also known as Bonny Brent, played his final gig ever. at his own funeral. Friends and family gathered to pay their last respects in Scarborough Canada on Saturday, April 24, and send off the lifelong drummer, who passed away at the age of 73.
The funeral had a lot of traditional touches, except the guest of honor was presented in a seated position behind a set of drums bearing the words, Bonny Brent, 1952 - 2021. Today we did something little bit different, as Bonny is a good friend of mine, explained Covenant Funeral Homes director and owner Luann Jones in a YouTube video. Reaction to this extreme embalming was overwhelmingly positive. People loved to see him getting ready to solo one last time.

beats the one that
Brentnol McPherson recently had in Toronto.
The local musician and popular drummer, known to everyone locally as Bonny Brent, passed away after battling cancer at the age of 69. To honor him, his friends and family held a wake for him and had him propped up and seated behind a drum set. He was dressed in a yellow jumpsuit and baseball cap and holding drum sticks. The Covenant Funeral Home in Toronto handled all of the arrangements and shared a video of the bizarre scene on YouTube. (
