With each Sunday session run by a different group, no two events will be the same, said Ross, who will run guided meditations at the sessions. Last year, sessions included mindful movement, child-friendly activities like blowing bubbles, and conversational activities. Each concluded with a 40-minute guided meditation. Ross has been teaching for four decades in Canada and New Zealand, and runs meditation retreats at Wangapeka Study and Retreat Centre each year. Finding a moment of calm and peace is important during a year when many have experienced anxiety, said Ross. “You can’t blow it off and go to Bali and party for two weeks.”
