The Soweto-born singer passed away on Sunday. He was 50. Due to the nations lockdown regulations, only a small number of people are allowed at the service with the memorial being streamed on Facebook. Taking to social media on Tuesday, the “Sacred Space” host Thami Ngubeni shared the news of the befitting farewell for the musical giant. “Hamba kahle Qhawe Let us gather online on Wed 13 Jan 2021 at 5pm to bid farewell to a Leader, Brother, Father, Servant, Friend, Husband, Son.He was so much to so many. The memorial service for Pastor Israel will be on the Assemblies of God Facebook page #RIPIsraelMosehla.”

The gospel star’s death was confirmed to TshisaLIVE by Millicent on Monday morning.  According to SowetanLIVE, the Ke Utlwa Lerato hitmaker passed away at the age of 50 after “battling hypertension that eventually lead to heart failure”.  Taking to Instagram, Millicent shared her distress about his death. Posting a photo of herself with her late hubby, she said she has been left shattered by the loss.

Gospel music fraternity mourns Mosehla s passing 11 January 2021 - 11:02 Image: Real Israel Mosehla Facebook Award-winning gospel singer and pastor Israel Linda Mosehla passed away last night. The course of death is still unknown at the moment.  Mosehla, who is described by fellow gospel artists as a trendsetter,  started his music journey at a young age studying piano and violin in Mofolo, and further went to Funda Arts Center in Diepkloof.  In 1985, Mosehla and his brother Isaiah as well as their two friends Bongani Matsobane and Jabu Nkabinde formed a dynamic gospel group called G-Effect. With G-Effect, Mosehla toured the US, UK, Brazil, New York, Chicago, Ohio, Dallas and London  between 2003 and 2005.

Image: Real Israel Mosehla Facebook Gospel star Israel Linda Mosehla has died at the age of 50, his wife Millicent Mosehla confirmed to TshisaLIVE on Monday morning. Details surrounding the star’s death are yet to be released.  “Yes, Israel has passed on,” Millicent said, adding that a family spokesperson would be appointed to share more details. The Soweto-born gospel artist came from a family of worshippers as both his parents were preachers and musicians. The family released three albums with Gallo in the 1980s.
