Getting a two-way player in Glenn Khobuntin is definitely a welcome addition for TNT, said head coach Bong Ravena.
The Tropang Giga acquired the former Terrafirma forward from free agency on Monday, February 8, ahead of the next PBA season expected to start in April.
“Masaya kami na napunta siya sa team (We’re happy that he came to our team). He’s a two-way kind of player,” Ravena told the
Bulletin-Tempo in a text message.
“Kailangan namin siya sa depensa and rebounds (We need him on defense and securing rebounds). He can shoot threes and he goes hard to the basket.”

TNT veteran playmaker Jayson Castro has started his journey to recovery from his knee injury caused by bone spurs while combo guard Ray Parks Jr. continues the rehabilitation of his left calf.
Castro, 34, underwent a surgery to remove the bone spurs on one of his knees on Monday, according to TNT head coach Bong Ravena.
Another operation will be administered next week to treat the same injury on his other knee as the Gilas Pilipinas mainstay looks to join the Tropang Giga’s training being eyed to start later this month.

TRIBUTES poured in for the late Ginebra player and former Ateneo stalwart Emilio ‘Nonoy’ Chuatico as news of his death in the US reached Manila on Saturday night.
From former teammates, colleagues, and even hardcourt rivals, everyone had nothing but praises for the 55-year-old Chuatico, who they described as a great leader on the court and a humble person off it.
The ‘Never Say Die’ and ‘One Big’ Fight’ for Chuatico finally came to an end just days into the New Year when he succumbed to the Big C in Atlanta, Georgia. He was 55.
“He was a great teammate and a vocal leader who would always give words of encouragement every time,” said Ginebra deputy Olsen Racela, who played alongside Chuatico during his rookie season in 1987 when the Blue Eagles won their first ever UAAP men’s basketball championship by beating University of the East in the finals.
“The positive thing is we made it to the finals,” said the soft-spoken coach, who steered TNT to a second championship series appearance in his second year at the helm.
The Tropang Giga finished the exhausting elimination round as the third seed after posting a 7-4 record and the superior quotient to come out on top of a five-way tie.
However, the injury bug hit TNT in the worst time possible.
Parks, the statistical points frontrunner after the final four, aggravated his left calf strain after the Tropang Giga’s dismal 100-94 overtime loss in Game One where he scored a team-high 20 points.
