The county in partnership with Harrisburg Regional Chamber and CREDC announced last week that 129 hospitality related businesses will receive funding under Pennsylvania’s Covid-19 Hospitality Industry Recovery Program. “Many businesses are on their way to recovery, and we are looking for any opportunity we can to help strengthen our region’s economic revival,” said Melissa Stone, Vice President of economic development at the Harrisburg Regional Chamber and CREDC.

Several restaurants are preparing to open in the Harrisburg area, giving pent-up diners an opportunity to grab a seat or takeout from a new spot. While some of the restaurants’ plans were delayed by COVID-19, others have sprung up during the pandemic hiatus. Many are awaiting the all-clear as state restrictions loosen up and vaccination rates to climb before they officially host grand openings. The new restaurants are coming on board as the state has eased some restrictions on restaurants, allowing more diners, bar service and later hours for serving alcohol.
