Karen Kramer, of Urbana, matched the first five numbers of June 8's $56 million Mega Millions drawing on a ticket she bought at a Harpers Ferry convenience store.
A Waterloo man claimed a total of $2,000,021 in Powerball prizes.
Anton Garrett, 48, bought five Powerball plays on one ticket for Saturday s drawing, according to a news release from the Iowa Lottery. On one of those plays, he won a $21 prize. On another, he won $2 million.
“I always dreamed I would win,” Garrett said in the news release. “It’s something I could just see.”
He chose his own numbers, playing a combination of family birthdays, anniversaries and other significant dates.
The ticket, purchased at New Star Liquor in Waterloo, missed Saturday s $155.9 million jackpot by just one number but it was still worth $2 million.
