SHERBORN With the concern about the mental and emotional health of students during the COVID-19 pandemic, the COVID-19 team broached the topic of how to address a concern or issue for parents at the April 15 meeting of the Sherborn Select Board.
Spreading the information for parents in the community, Board of Health Chairwoman Daryl Beardsley referred people to the Massachusetts government website, https://www.mass.gov/, where they can find resources about mental health concerns during the pandemic. She also shared the site https://handholdma.org/, a site managed by a “team of mental health and child development experts in partnership with parents.”
California State Treasurer Fiona Ma announced the completion of a $195.04 million short-term note sale by the California School Finance Authority (CSFA) to assist 16 school districts with short-term financing needs. The notes priced on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 and closed on April 22, 2021.
This innovative financing marks the second sale of notes under the statewide pooled State Aid Intercept Notes (SAIN) program, which CSFA launched in anticipation of State deferrals of FY 2020-21 funding apportionments to public schools and college districts in the wake of the global Covid-19 pandemic and the State’s budgetary response to it. The first note sale occurred in March.
Kenworth seeks to build test facility at its Chillicothe campus
CHILLICOTHE- Kenworth Truck Company announced its intention to build a new test track facility on the northern side of its Chillicothe campus Monday.
A new 110,000-foot, $45 million building would allow the company to test new trucks, said plant manager Chris Davis at Monday s county commissioner s meeting. Currently, this function is done either inside the current facility or out in the weather, and they want to put everything under the same roof, said Tammy Eallonardo, director of Economic Development for Greater Chillicothe and Ross County Development.
Along with taking weather conditions out of the testing scenario, it will also free up space in the current facility, creating additional room to expand products or to change procedures.
