Sano Vamuzo, founder of Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA), has been conferred the prestigious Padma Shri at the Republic Day honors for her impactful contributions. Born on March 27, 1940, Sano navigated educational challenges, excelling in various schools in Nagaland. Her academic journey led to degrees from Guwahati University, Bombay University, and NEHU, who went to serve as State Organizing Commissioner (G), Bharat Scouts & Guides Nagaland, Kohima, 1972, and later as its Vice President for several years.
For these sanyasinis residing in the temple town, the event will also mark the end of Sita’s vanvas (exile) and her return to Ayodhya along with Lord Ram, besides Ram Rajya “that also marks empowerment of women.”
