Plans to make Bolton retail park centre of green innovation

A RETAIL park on the edge of Bolton town centre is set to be rejuvenated to help position Greater Manchester as a centre of green innovation. Greenworks is a Bolton at Home project delivered in partnership with the charity Urban Outreach and is the new name for a transformation at Trinity Retail Park off St Peter’s Way. The social housing provider acquired retail units and land at the retail park in December, to turn into a community focused green technology and skills hub. The aim is to help achieve a sustainable net-zero carbon future and support people into jobs in the construction and energy sectors.

Bolton s climate emergency survey deadline approaches

Bolton Council and local partners want to hear your priorities for making the borough cleaner and greener. Contributions from local people, businesses and community groups will help inform a 10-year climate change action plan for the borough. Bolton Council declared a climate emergency in 2019 and has set an ambitious target to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2030. The Climate Emergency Survey is asking people what carbon reduction options should be prioritised. Contributions from local people, businesses and community groups will help inform a 10-year climate change action plan for the borough. More than 1,000 residents and local businesses have already responded to the survey and ideas include more cycle lanes and home energy efficiency measures.

Climate emergency survey open to Bolton residents

RESIDENTS are invited to have their say in tackling the climate emergency by sharing their ideas for making Bolton a greener place. Bolton Council and local partners are developing a 10-year action plan, and residents and business can voice their suggestions in an online survey. People now have until January 29th 2021 to take part in an online consultation which asks local residents to think about the best options for reducing carbon emissions. The survey has been put together by Bolton Vision Partnership, a group of local organisations from the public, private and voluntary sectors who work together to improve life in Bolton.
