BOLTON will not find out today if it will be lifted out of Tier 3 and placed into Tier 2. Despite a much-anticipated announcement from the Government following a review of the tier system today, the Bolton News understands an annoucement will be no sooner than tomorrow. Currently Bolton and Greater Manchester are subject to Tier 3 - the harshest of restrictions to contain coronavirus. The department for health and social care said this afternoon that no announcement was expected. This week politicians have been arguing the case for Bolton being lifted out of Tier 3. Deputy leader of Bolton Council Cllr Martyn Cox said: The leader of Bolton Council has made clear that we should be lifted out of Tier 3 and placed into Tier 2, and I agree.
