Maiduguri, May 21, 2021 Some residents of Maiduguri, Borno have expressed delight over media reports on the alleged death of a Boko Haram Leader, Abubakar Shekau.
A cross-section of residents, who spoke to newsmen on Friday, said that they were excited with the news and prayed it was true.
âI am happy like others in Borno about this news and pray itâs real.
âI also pray that the development will serve as a major breakthrough that will facilitate the end of this crisis,ââ a member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), who simply identified himself as Lawan, said.

Leader of Nigerian militant terrorist group, Boko Haram has been reportedly killed during a deadly clash between his men and those of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) intelligence have confirmed to PRNigeria.

Boko Haram Kills 10, Injures 50 as Buhari Ignores Pleas for Amnesty
The rampaging Boko Haram terrorist network has struck again, killing 10 and injuring scores of citizens in Borno State as President Muhammadu Buhari rules out amnesty for bandits and insurgents troubling the peace of Nigeria.
While Boko Haram Leader, Abubakar Shekau, was claiming responsibility for the Tuesday bombing of Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, Northern leaders were in Kaduna pushing for amnesty for bloodletting bandits and insurgents.
At least ten persons were killed during the attack which was carried out with rocket launchers, according to witnesses.
