Boko Haram which was founded in 2002 by the late Mohammed Yusuf assumed a militant and deadly approach in 2009 after his untimely death in the hands of the security agencies. Before now Nigerians were once referred to as the happiest people in the globe and the thoughts of suicide bombing in our shores seemed so far fetched.
Borno, Yobe and Adamawa became theatres of war overnight as bombs were freely detonated with alarming alacrity. Abuja, the political capital wasn’t also spared as the United Nations building and Thisday were bombed with Boko Haram claiming responsibility for it.

Residents of Kanamma, the headquarters of Yunusari Local Government Area of Yobe State, were made to flee their town with many sleeping overnight in the bushes as Boko Haram laid siege.
It was gathered that the group attacked the town in ten gun trucks at about 6.30pm on Thursday making the residents flee into bushes and neighbouring villages for safety.
The number of casualties and the level of destruction from the attack could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report as the mobile network was epileptic.

Boko Haram has launched an attack on the small desert town of Kanamma, the headquarters of Yunusari Local Government Area (LGA) of Yobe State, forcing residents to flee their town with many sleeping overnight in the bushes.
The group was said to have attacked the town in ten gun trucks at about 6.30pm yesterday, making the residents flee into bushes and near by villages for safety.
The number of casualties and the level of destruction from the attack could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report.
ASP Dungus Abdulkarim, Police Public Relations Officer of the Yobe State Police Command, who confirmed the attack to newsmen said the insurgents attacked Kanamma but the details were not available.
