There is a new guide to litigation in South Africa titled ‘There is no limit to Stalingrad jurisprudence’. This work has been carefully compiled and tested in practice by at least three prominent litigants: former president Jacob Zuma, Western Cape Judge President John Hlophe and Public Pro.
The Hlophe matter must rank as the most serious crisis the SA judiciary has faced and has dragged on for more than 13 years. The judges on Thursday referred to it as ‘unique in the history of any judiciary’.
