Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett announced that ten parks across the city will now offer open-access wireless internet to underserved communities.
MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and other leaders announced on Thursday, April 29 that ten parks across the city will now offer open-access wireless internet to underserved communities from 5 a.m. through 9 p.m. daily. It is our ultimate goal to make certain that every part of this city has both affordable and accessible Wi-Fi connections, said Mayor Barrett. We have our city structures. We have the ability to expand that into the city parks that are adjacent to the city buildings and this is going to give more accessibility to residents in our city.

Jordan Jones released on bail, charged in crash that killed MU dean

MILWAUKEE - The man accused of killing a former Marquette administrator, then lying to police, is out of jail. 21-year-old Jordan Jones posted $50,000 cash bail earlier this week.
Police say Jones was driving the car that struck and killed Marquette Business School Dean Joe Daniels in February 2020.
Jones did not have a valid driver’s license.
Earlier this year, Jones pleaded not guilty to charges of hit and run, as well as driving while suspended causing death. His next court date is May 10.

MILWAUKEE, WIS. (December 22, 2020) – For the first time ever, WISN 12 and The Salvation Army joined forces for the ‘#RescueChristmas’ fundraiser. It provides toys, along with food, clothes, and shelter services, to children and families in need across Southeastern Wisconsin.
From December 7, 2020 through December 20, 2020, the campaign was promoted both on-air and online to solicit donations from generous viewers. More than 1,200 donors contributed over $103,000. Plus, an anonymous donor contributed a $10,000 match to boost giving. Proceeds will be used to provide toys, meals, coats, hats, gloves, and shelter for children across Milwaukee and its surrounding areas.
