A flood of memories will hit dozens of SIU Aviation alumni aboard an American Airlines’ Boeing 737 on Saturday, April 15, as they fly over Southern Illinois University Carbondale and then land moments later at Southern Illinois Airport.
140 junior high, high school and community college students from the Chicago area will discover many aviation career pathways during American Airlines-SIU Aviation Career Day on April 15.
Three dozen United Airlines employees - also largely SIU Aviation alumni - volunteered their time to bring 110 Chicago-area high school students aboard a 737-800 airliner to SIU to gain insight into what the nationally recognized aviation program offers.
