Guwahati: The final phase of Assam Bodoland Territorial Council elections is being conducted on Thursday. Besides, several Bodo leaders, former BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary and former deputy chief Khampa Borgoyary are contesting the polls. Hagrama is contesting from Debargaon and Kachugaon council constituencies. The polls are kickstarted at 7:30 am and conclude at 4:30 pm.
The 40-member Bodoland Territorial Council was scheduled to be held on April 4, but due to the coronavirus-induced lockdown, it was postponed indefinitely. As the five-year term of the BTC ended in April, Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi assumed administration of the council.
