Nearly a week after its 22 crew members abandoned ship, the Felicity Ace car carrier is "still assumed to remain on fire drifting south of the Azores Islands in the Atlantic," according to its manager MOL Ship Management.
3. Woman charged with vehicular homicide in fatal motorcycle crash
Lisa Chartier, a 50-year-old Raynham woman, was officially charged in late-January in connection with a fatal September 2019 motorcycle crash after a clerk magistrate found probable cause to issue criminal charges. Chartier was charged with motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and failure to stop or yield. She was originally cited for a red light violation and negligent operation in the crash at Broadway (Route 138) and Carver Street that left John Russell, 56, of Raynham, in critical condition. But police issued another citation days after Russell died on Sept. 12 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence as a result of the injuries he sustained in the crash. The court case is pending.
