week after the presidentiamç election, the governor s association was in town, in las vegas, and as we reported, three governors who are contemplating their own runs in 2016 made a trip from the wynn casino and hotel, a strong rival of sheldon adelson s sands corporation, over to the venetian, adelson s flagship, to meet with sheldon adelson. we don t know what they talked about, but bobby engine dal, john casic, and really high up on the short list of procespecte 2016ers. after the meeting we heard sheldon adelson expressed to confidantes he was favoring for 2016, a candidate with executive experience. all those guys fit the bill. incidentally, they were also visiting with him. great. professor, in this wall street journal article, adelson dismisses the president s winning margin as i m quoting him a rounding error.
i think that there s a in any way. i m pro-science, i think we need to be credible reform party, you should embrace climate change and propose solutions to them. there s no question about that. but, you know, i think there is going to be this is where some of the cleavages will come among various strains of reformism. howard pointed to one, the question of immigration. some like jeb bush will be on the relatively liberal side of creationism. maybe bobby engine dal will be on creationism. because he himself is minority, he almost visually carries an inclusiveness that some of the more white, standard brand caucasian republicans don t carry. he can probably get away with being more conservative on the immigration front, but there are these strains within the party that all these guys will be trying to figure out how to work around. and a guy like bobby jindal, health care policy is his specialty, he s a guy of science. yet you point out correctly that right now at least so far, he s
president obama. when you look at what s been going on, mitt romney has had to contend with president obama, vice president biden, first lady michelle obama, and particularly when you look at obama versus biden and romney, it s two-on-one. mitt romney being able to pick a vice presidential running mate fairly early allows him to return the game to two-on-two. importantly, to start raising more money, to be able to dispatch whomever that pick is to be able to raise money for the romney campaign. you ve been watching this since the beginning of the season. you ve got all these potential vp picks. bobby engine dal, out last week, tim pawlenty hit the trail last week, shadowing the president s bus tour, bracketing him. senator mark rubio raising money for romney in boston. we ve got rob portman on the trail this week as well. now the washington post reporting the pressure is building. who s got the most buzz now? we finish the holiday week.
