or had already been in contact with the government. so it seems as if these unnamed witnesses knew exactly who to tell as soon as this happened. yeah. so the very day that manafort is indicted, he starts reaching out to potential witnesses by text and calls, , let s get our story together. they re saying that we should have registered because we are a lobby in the united states, but you know we were really lobbying in europe. so we didn t have to register, right? right. they hung up on him. they said i m not going to have this conversation, and some of them actually called the prosecutor. one, because they don t wan that kind of exposure, and b, this is so blatant. it s so obviously wrong, it really ticks judges off because it goes to the integrity of the judicial process. so i think mueller wants to get this in front of judge jackson because it s going to make her think very seriously about having manafort sit in jail until the trial. that gives mueller more

without one republican vote, but it is often forgotten that 34 democrats also voted against obamacare. seeing some of its major flaws from the start. today, we re seeing this same situation in congress as republican leadership struggles to get full support from its own party. as the tables have turned, let s bring in a former blue dog democrat, representative bobby bright, to give his unique perspective. welcome to you. thank you for being here. hello, laura, great to be here. laura: yes, well, talking about this unique perspective today, with what you experienced in 2009 and 10. you were one of the few democrats voting against obamacare, seeing some of the flaws at the beginning, but that must have come with a lot of pressure from your own party. i want you to tell us what it was like to work against your own party and what the parallels are with the republicans on this issue. you must be having this deja vu. it is deja vu all over
conservative democrats in the house, jim marshal, bobby bright, june taylor and travis childers. earl pommeroy but particularly those four in the south who almost all voted against the stimulus and the health care bill and against cap and trade. and the democratic label has become so harmful, they lost anyway. what do you think is the take-away for the democrats tonight? i want to address a point. i don t know that it was necessarily the democratic label. i think these are very conservative districts and they are referred to as snap-backs. they came in in the last one or two waves, very conservative districts. and the democrats are saying they had no business being there and they voted against almost everything. and they still lost. you know, i think that it s hard to get a handle on exactly what to take away from this. but to me, what it seems like is we have seen, this is our third wave election. things are swinging back wildly.
effective and one of the finest and i think that history may judge her that way, if you look at what you re supposed to accomplish as speaker. when it comes to helping her fellow democrats this time around, she s actually become a liability. bobby bright, j marshall, jason altmeyer, scott murphy, mike mcmahan, these people all over the country have basically said whether she s minority or majority, she does not have our support. but the reason, dana, is because those are conservative democrats. isn t that what it is? that the president and pelosi have seen eye to eye on trying to gin up the far left base of the party. these are the conservative democrats that don t agree with some of those policies. right. one of the reasons i think a lot of them will lose, gretchen, is because while they ll say now that they didn t agree with it, they voted for it. sure. and they might have felt like their arms were twisted. good point. the reason the voters are all mad for them is they
