tonight against accusations of extortion. he is ken feinberg, the administrator of bp s 20 billion-dollar disaster fund. he says so far he has gotten more than 450,000 claims. four times what he says he originally expected. he says he has paid 125,000 of them for a total of more than $2 billion. last week, alabama s governor, bob reilly accused feinberg of extortion for forcing victims to give up their right to sue in exchange for the money. feinberg tells the fox business network there is another option. there are two choices open to any claimant. take a lump sum payment from the fund and release your right to sue, or don t take a lump sum payment. take a quarterly payment, document your damage, and you don t have to release anybody. shepard: up to you. yesterday, the deadline for emergency claims but ken feinberg says the other two options are available for the next three years. president obama weighing in now
