Elkins City Council voted unanimously at its most recent meeting to purchase the new truck for $182,603. “It is an International truck,” Elkins Operation Manager Bob Pingley said before the vote. “We’ve gone to automatic transmission in those kind of trucks, that’s pretty much standard equipment that we normally get.” The Easy Pack G400 Sanitation Truck will be modified as part of the purchase agreement. It will be “painted to match the City of Elkins garbage trucks” and “unit lettered to the City of Elkins specifications,” according to city documents.
