In the United States i am sure you are very aware that we are in the midst of significant budget battles and dysfunctions one might say, and for those of us who watched defense we are particularly the implications of that for u. S. Defense strategy and planning. Im wondering how you would describe the cuts in defense in canada. I dont think you have quite the political environment we do right now but surely you must have the same sense of general interest in how canada plans to go forward and again strategically where canada wants to be in terms of its role in the world and how to underwrite that with military capability. I would love to hear a little bit about the efforts underway in canada including your own defense reform initiative. That looks to cut inefficiencies to free up some funds. Good for you youve got the name right. The defense renewal team has worked a year. One of the first tasks in taking on this position was the direction to maintain everyone and the numbers that i ha
Capacity in u. S. Peacekeeping forces may not be a bad thing to think about. They cost a fraction of what it costs to deploy a force we pay 26 cents on the dollar for the forces not to mention the differential between the cost of fielding a un force and the cost of fielding an american force. Its an order of magnitude at least if not more. So my question would be hell much time do we or should we spend trying to factor in institutions like the United Nations into our defense posture . I guess once way of saying it is how much do we think about outsourcing. Last question. It seems to me that if we are discussing the future of american defense, we might give some thought to thinking about a future of the american relationship with china. And im wondering whether you see china as a potential ally with whom cooperation becomes a norm or whether you see it as a rival against whom the u. S. House to position itself in one way or another. Im not going to try to comment on everything that was

Of the just the estimate cost of the slop over 10 years. This is what has been happening it. Weed until it goes into effect. I thought this would be useful to you. If anybody wants the slide presentation, im happy to send it. Give me your card afterwards there is apparently a book signing later on. I have copies of our book, why obamacare is wrong for america. So many things we predicted are happening. They estimate, the average cost of a policy in the Obamacare Exchange will be 14,000 a year for a family of four. Make, erage subsidy if you 150 of poverty, you make a its a huge subsidy, 10,000 a year to 12,000 a year. This is new spending. It goes up. The red is how much taxpayer funds for that insurance. The blue is how much the individual pays. Four out ofjority, five of the policies being sold, is subsidized coverage. No surprise. It is terri
