No end to bus shelter impasse | Dandenong Star Journal

By Cam Lucadou-Wells To the frustration of PT passengers, the list of disappearing bus-stop shelters across Greater Dandenong grows on. At a council meeting on 24 May, councillors listed three further missing shelters on top of a known removal on Keysclere Avenue, opposite Parkmore shopping centre. They were outside an aged-care home on Outlook Drive, Dandenong, near the corner of Hammond and Kirkham roads, Dandenong South, and on Corrigan Road near Kingsclere Avenue, Keysborough. Cr Bob Milkovic noted that aged-care residents on Outlook Drive depended on the bus service for shopping trips and faced a “challenge” without a shelter in winter.

VCAT topples triple-storey project | Dandenong Star Journal

By Cam Lucadou-Wells Neighbours were described as “ecstatic” after the state’s planning tribunal quashed a proposal for 16 multi-storey dwellings in a Dandenong North alcove. The “bulky” 15 triple-storey dwellings and a double-storey home at 11 Cardinia Close would have detracted from the neighbourhood’s character, Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal found on 21 December. “An evident and significant departure from the existing and identified future character is the three-storey nature of the dwellings,” VCAT senior member Bill Sibonis stated. “A more tempered design is necessary.” The applicant Osnad Pty Ltd appealed to VCAT after Greater Dandenong Council rejected its original bid for 20 dwellings.
