(KDKA) – A man accused of shooting and killing his neighbor’s dog has pleaded guilty. Indiana County District Attorney Bob Manzi announced Wednesday that Robert McConnell pleaded guilty to felony count of animal cruelty and a misdemeanor count of cruelty to animals. McConnell is accused of shooting and killing a neighbor’s dog that was on his property in May of last year. The DA says McConnell first denied the shooting and told the neighbors to stay off his property, but when their dog’s body was found in a shallow grave, state police confronted McConnell, who confessed to the shooting.

A Greensburg man accused of trying to burn down an Indiana County home last May by throwing “Molotov cocktails” at it was convicted this week in a non-jury trial, according to court records. Derrick John Weber, 21, was found guilty by Indiana County Judge William J. Martin of attempted arson of an occupied residence, recklessly endangering another person and criminal mischief. Weber was accused of trying to burn down a house along Route 271 in Burrell Township on May 30 , 2020. Prosecutors said Weber threw at the house glass bottles full of gasoline, with torn pieces of a T-shirt in the bottle, Indiana County District Attorney Bob Manzi said Friday.

Indiana County District Attorney Bob Manzi announced on Friday that 21-year-old Derrick Weber was found guilty in a non-jury trial in front of Senior Judge William Martin.  He was charged with attempted arson, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief in connection with the attempted firebombing of a home along Route 217 North in Burrell Township on May 30 th of last year. Investigators found burn marks on the lawn and the home of the victim.  They also found an unbroken Molotov Cocktail nearby that had been filled with gas and had a T-shirt wrapped around it.  Weber attempted to set the victim’s home on fire over a dispute involving an accusation that the victim had killed a local dog.

SCI PINE GROVE PRISONER CONVICTED OF ASSAULTING CORRECTIONS OFFICER By Hometown2 Apr 15, 2021 10:18 AM District Attorney Bob Manzi announced today that an SCI Pine Grove inmate was found guilty and sentenced for assaulting a prison guard. 22-year-old Jason Hinshaw of Indiana was found guilty yesterday of a felony charge of aggravated assault for an incident at the state prison facility on February 6 th of last year.  Hinshaw was in possession of an electronic tablet that did not belong to him.  When he was confronted by a corrections officer about it, he threatened and kicked the officer in the back.  He was ordered by Judge Michael Clark to serve 15 months to seven years in state prison after the guilty verdict was handed down in the non-jury trial.
