FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas - The hot weather in Texas is no joke, and fortunately, Fort Bend County is offering cooling centers for residents to help beat the heat.
In fact, temperatures in Fort Bend Co. are expected to rise into the 100s so several public facilities in the area will open and serve as Emergency Cooling Centers, Wednesday through Friday.
These centers provide Fort Bend County residents who lack air-conditioning at home with relief from the heat, free of charge. All centers will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at most sites.

 Fort Bend County Libraries (FBCL) will reopen five locations Monday, Library Director Clara Russell announced in a Thursday news release.Â
 âWe miss all of our patrons, and we know how important our libraries are to their daily lives,â Russell said. âWe want to return to ânormalâ service as soon as possible, but this needs to happen in phases so that we can keep everyone safe and healthy.â
 The Books & More curbside pickup service will continue to be available at all FBCL locations.
 All who enter FBCL buildings will start at a health-screening station to have their temperature taken, Fort Bend County Judge KP George said during a Facebook Live broadcast Thursday.Â
