Amanda Rardon, RN, of Monticello, is the clinical operations manager of trauma and emergency services at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. She has been a trauma nurse for 20-plus years.
She is the mother of three children. In her free time, Rardon teaches behavioral health classes at the Purdue University s School of Nursing and she volunteers at the COVID-19 vaccine clinic.
And now she runs a grief support group.
Rardon lost her sister, Ashley, five years ago on Christmas Day. They had just finished opening presents. Ashley was 32 years old and died of cardiac arrest. Rardon went into full nursing mode but despite all of her training, Rardon could not save her sister.
HEPPNER â Morrow County Health District has announced that Ryan Fowler, a former chief executive officer for Lower Umpqua Hospital District in Reedsport on the Oregon coast, assumed the role as CEO for the rural district on Thursday, Jan. 28, according to a press release.
âIâm committed to rural health care â thatâs where Iâve spent the majority of my career,â Fowler said in the press release. âAfter some conversations at home, I thought this would be a really good fit for me and my family.â
Fowler, 42, signed a one-year contract as interim CEO, as current CEO Bob Houser prepares to retire. Houser worked in healthcare for 37 years and spent five and a half years as the districtâs administrator, according to the press release.
