DEAR EDITOR:
Congratulations to the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley for exceeding its lofty goal for 2020.
Bob Hannon, his staff, Kevin Helmick (president and CEO of Farmers National Bank), volunteers and many contributors should be very proud of their efforts in this tough pandemic year.
It’s gratifying to see so many people contribute to the success of this campaign.
Remember, it’s good to know, all money raised by the United Way stays in our community.
That’s a job well done!

A meaningful partnership among the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley, a local health care facility and the Muransky family continues to do incredible work for the Mahoning Valley and its most needy.
The efforts of Chris and Ed Muransky, their family and Southwoods Health, combined with the local United Way, have assisted in providing meals for the needy and respite to those who already provide daily service at the Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley. Indeed, this response reminds us that so much good still exists here in our community.
“Chris and Ed Muransky don’t want anyone to be without this Christmas,” Bob Hannon, president of the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley, said recently. “In the midst of this global pandemic, the Muransky family knows how difficult this year has been on nonprofits across the Valley as well as the people they serve. They hope this inspires others to give back this holiday season.”
