Norwegian Cruise Lines prepares for Europe restart with only vaccinated passengers

Leading cruise lines are preparing to resume sailing in the Mediterranean after a fitful pause in operations. Top destinations including Italy and Greece will welcome back pleasure cruisers and their passengers, but only after they are fully vaccinated against Covid 19.
On Thursday, NCL Holdings brands Ocean, Regent and Norwegian announced a return to passenger sailings from late summer.
Starting from 5 September, parent company Norwegian Cruise Line is launching new itineraries on two ships Norwegian Epic and Norwegian Getaway, which will be sailing to the Greek Isles.

Despite the pressure parent Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings has
been putting on the CDC to restart cruises in the US, Oceania Cruises is not holding back on planning cruises in other parts of the world.
Oceania Cruises announced it would start sailing in Northern Europe and Scandinavia from the Danish capital of Copenhagen this summer.

Marina will be sailing from August on a series of voyages the line calls better than ever. The voyages that the line is planning to be operating are part of the line’s original itinerary for the vessel and are subject to change.

Oceania Cruises will make its long-awaited return to sailing when Marina starts sailing to Scandinavia and Western Europe in August.
The 1,250 guest ship will start its season out of Copenhagen on Aug. 29, resuming the ship’s original schedule. Oceania then plans to phase-in the rest of its fleet with itineraries and ship debuts “evaluated for port availability and adjusted as needed” closer to sailing dates.
“The entire Oceania Cruises team is excited to now shift our focus to safely restarting operations and ultimately welcoming back our guests to begin exploring the world once again, Oceania president and CEO Bob Binder said in a statement announcing the news.

Oceania Cruises will resume cruise operations with the 1,250-passenger Marina in August with sailings to Scandinavia and Western Europe.
Oceania and sister line Regent Seven Seas joined Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) today in rounding out the restart plans for the three Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) brands.
The Marina is slated to resume service on what was its originally published schedule, an Aug. 29 Copenhagen to Stockholm cruise with ports including St. Petersburg and Helsinki. That will be followed by sailings from Stockholm, Amsterdam, Lisbon, Barcelona, Venice and Rome.
