With the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission’s “Great White Fleet” of stocking trucks beginning the 2021 trout-stocking schedule this week, all Pennsylvania streams designated as stocked trout waters are closed to fishing.
The streams will remain closed until the statewide Mentored Youth Trout Fishing Day on Saturday, March 27, and the statewide opening day of trout fishing season on Saturday, April 3.
Stocked trout waters are waters with significant portions open to public fishing, except during the closed period in the weeks before trout fishing season, and are stocked with trout.
The closed period is happening 2 weeks early this year, as the commission has advanced the entire trout schedule as part of its coronavirus pandemic response.
