Courts hearing urgent matters

Social Share All urgent matters and new charge sheets are being heard at all Magistrates’ Courts that are operational. However, all other matters at those courts will be adjourned. In addition, the Registrar of the Supreme Court has advised that Saturday court at District “A” will resume from today. All accused have been requested to present themselves to the court on the dates given to obtain new dates. Meanwhile, all District “A” courts have resumed operations, and the District “F”/Horse Hill and District “B”/Boarded Hall Magistrates’ Courts are operational. People with existing matters at these courts are requested to call the court offices to obtain new dates, as all such offices are operational.

BWA working to fix ruptured Carmichael main, restore water

[Update: 4:45 pm] The Barbados Water Authority informed residents of St George and Christ Church districts affected by the water outage today Monday, December 14, that repairs have been completed on the main at Carmichael in St George. Customers were asked to be mindful, however, that it may take some time for normal pressure to all areas to return to normal. Some districts may continue to experience low pressure or outages into the evening.   Parts of St George are experiencing water outages or low water pressure. The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) is aware of the situation. In a press release, the BWA is advising customers that last night, Sunday (December 13), a rupture occurred on a large-sized main at Carmichael or Old Works Hill in St George. Crews are today Monday, December 14 working to fix this burst.

Barbados Today December 14, 2020 The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) wishes to advise that on Sunday night a rupture occurred on a large-sized main at Carmichael or Old Works Hill in St. George. Crews are today working to fix this burst. As a result, two of the Authority’s Stations have had to be taken offline in order to facilitate the repair. Customers in the following areas may experience low water pressure or outages. First Step, Lower Brighton, Waverley Cot, Buttals Tenantry, Good Intent, Eastlyn, Manning’s Village, Walkers Valley, Constant, Windsor Tenantry, Campaign Castle, Brereton, Hannays Valley, Lower Greys, Dayrells Hill, Boarded Hall, Frere Pilgrim, Edey Village, Watts Village, St. Davids, Cox Road, Bannantyne, South District and surrounding areas.
