I was disappointed nothing could be worked out, Councilman Tom Didier, R-3rd, said today. Festival officials announced Tuesday this year s parade would be canceled, but the rest of the festival is still scheduled for July 9 to 17. This is the second straight year the parade has been canceled because of the novel coronavirus. The entire festival was placed on hiatus last year. Other festival events will be spread out for social distancing this year, but the parade is a bigger challenge with more than 50,000 people attending annually, festival officials said.
