Experienced industry executive Jaya Singh has been elected as the new President of Tax Free World Association (TFWA) on a one-year term.
The former APTRA President and current Managing Director of Mondelez World Travel Retail, European Export & Switzerland was elected today following a TFWA Management Committee vote.
Singh fended off competition from incumbent President Alain Maingreaud, who was running for a third term, and other challenger Melvin Broekaart.
TRBusiness was aware through conversations with industry sources in the lead-up to the election that Singh â confirmed to this publication as a runner for the presidency alongside Broekaart â was a strong contender for the post given his critical experience in DF&TR working on behalf of several associations.
