Percepio and Lauterbach combine to offer faster debugging

Percepio and Lauterbach combine to offer faster debugging Percepio and Lauterbach are collaborating to achieve faster debugging through closer integration between Percepio Tracealyzer and Lauterbach’s series of TRACE32 high-end tracing tools. Percepio specialises in visual trace diagnostics for embedded systems and the Internet of Things (IoT), while Lauterbach is a supplier of complete, modular and upgradeable microprocessor development tools. The first result of this ongoing cooperation is an integration that allows Lauterbach users on Arm Cortex-M microprocessors to live stream software trace data into Percepio Tracealyzer, providing visual trace diagnostics for accelerated debugging and verification. The solution leverages the Percepio trace recorder library, supporting e.g. FreeRTOS and SAFERTOS.

Research points to a need to increase product life span

New research suggests that reducing field failures or increasing the life span of products are the top two reasons why manufacturers chose to protect their products from liquid damage, ahead of ‘meeting industry standards’ or ‘improving the user experience’.

Cadence unveils next-generation Sigrity X

Cadence Design Systems has announced next-generation Sigrity X signal and power integrity (SI/PI) solutions. Sigrity X features powerful new simulation engines for system-level analysis and includes the massively distributed architecture of the flagship Cadence Clarity 3D Solver. The Sigrity X tool suite looks to address the size and scalability challenges of system-level simulations faced by technologists in the 5G communications, automotive, hyperscale computing, and aerospace and defence industries. Delivering up to a 10X performance gain for simulation speed and design capacity, it provides a user experience that streamlines setup time for detailed system-level SI/PI analysis by transitioning seamlessly across different analysis workflows.

Altium 365 offers a new PCB design experience via AWS

Altium 365 offers a new PCB design experience via AWS In a move to provide engineers with a digital platform that connects design to the supply chain and the manufacturing floor, Altium has selected Amazon Web Services (AWS) to host the Altium 365 cloud platform. The Altium 365 cloud-based platform and Altium Designer PCB will now be able to create seamless collaboration points across the development process, making it the most connected design experience in the industry. It will now be possible to streamline the product development process and allow engineers and designers to create smart & connected electronic products faster than ever. With Altium 365, users can now bring together the stakeholders and participants in the electronic design process - even if they do not have Altium Designer - while keeping IPs secure and designs under control.

Pulsonix offers new functionality with release of Version 11 0

Pulsonix offers new functionality with release of Version 11.0 Pulsonix, an EDA company, has released Pulsonix version 11.0 offering both significant speed improvements, as well as new functionality for high speed designs. “Many of our customers are building significantly more complex designs resulting in the need for fast and efficient PCB design tools, ” said Bob Williams, marketing director for Pulsonix. “Version 11.0 makes a gigantic leap in speed, dramatically reducing the time it takes to perform many PCB design operations, such as Design Rule Checking (DRC), Copper Pouring, and Gerber generation.” Significant speed improvements have been made by completely rewriting the underlying graphics engine to utilise the standard DirectX graphics and high-performance graphics cards such as those used in the gaming industry.
