RIDGEFIELD The board of finance appointed Andrew Okrongly as a new member during a meeting Thursday night.
Okrongly was recommended by the Democratic Town Committee and is set to immediately fill the position previously held by Amy Macartney Freidenrich who recently resigned.
Board Chairman David Ulmer said he “seemed to fit the bill the best.”
“He presented himself very well and was very interested,” Ulmer said, adding that he had a “very good background” in finance and investment.
Okrongly is a director at Commonfund, an independent asset management company based in Wilton serving non-profits organizations. The Ridgefield native has over 10 years of experience with the financial services industry under his belt.
