Yes has announced a massive new box set. The band is celebrating the 30th anniversary of their “Union” album and tour, where all the members of both iterations of Yes –
Jon Anderson, Bill Bruford, Steve Howe, Tony Kaye, Trevor Rabin, Chris Squire, Rick Wakeman, and
Alan White –came together.
“Union 30 Live” offers fans 30 discs of live recordings, radio broadcasts, fan recordings, memorabilia, and other rarities. That also includes multi-camera DVDs from their stops at California’s Shoreline Amphitheatre, NYC’s Madison Square Garden, Florida’s Pensacola Civic Centre, and New York’s Nassau Coliseum.
In a statement, Rick Wakeman says he’s always “loathed” the “Union” album… but the tour is a different story. “I am so glad it was recorded and filmed as it was a very special time that can never be repeated,” he says. The Union tour is, for me, the most important event in Yes history.
