BMW EV: BMW plans to increase the sales of electric vehicles (EVs) in India, aiming for one out of every four vehicles sold to be electric within the next two years. Currently, EVs make up 10% of the company s sales in India, a figure expected to rise to 15% in 2024 and 25% by 2025. BMW is the dominant player in the luxury EV market in India, with a share of over 48%. The company intends to launch more EVs in the country to further consolidate its position.
BMW iX1 was launched on Thursday as a completely built-up unit at an ex-showroom price of Rs 66.9 lakh. BMW iX1 is the first-ever pure-electric version of the X1 and fifth EV launched by BMW India after the i7, iX, i4 and Mini SE.
BMW has launched its luxurious electric vehicle, the iX1, in India. The vehicle comes with a lithium-ion battery that offers a range of 417-440 kilometers and can be charged from 10% to 90% in just 29 minutes with a 130 kW DC charger. It features a fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology, intelligent all-wheel-drive system, and BMW ConnectedDrive technologies.
