Vehicles designed for the Russian Airborne Force are being promoted overseas.
Russian defence conglomerate Rostec noted on 15 April that its Rosoboronexport and NPO High-Precision Weapons companies are progressing efforts to promote the BMD-4M IFV and BTR-MDM APC as ‘the latest Russian armoured vehicles designed for the use of airborne forces’.
NPO earlier informed state-run news agency TASS that its Kurganmashzavod subsidiary ‘has already created all technical documents for marketing both BMD-4M and BTR-MDM’ to export customers.
NPO added: ‘We are already engaged in the promotion of both models together with Rosoboronexport… These vehicles are of great interest to countries that have airborne troops in their armed forces. BMD-4M and BTR-MDM will be used by special forces and police units in various regions of the world.’
