On Dec. 22, the Blythe City Council accepted a $5,000 donation towards preventing and combating local homelessness.
âJust to give a little background â I received a phone call last week from a classmate of mine, who wished to remain anonymous. She wanted to donate $5,000 to the city of Blythe homeless program. Which is very generous, and very gracious of her and her family to give this donation,â said Blythe Mayor Dale Reynolds. âIt will go towards different projects; whether it be for the HOT (Homeless Outreach Team), to help with some of the issues they may need help with. It will go towards a travelerâs fund â so, if someone gets stranded in the city of Blythe and doesnât want to become homeless, we can help them get to their destination wherever they may be going.
