The first ever virtual QUAD meeting was held on 12 March, 2021. The QUAD concept is not something new as it was first mooted in 2007 by Japan. Since 2007, various meetings and discussions had been held over the years at the ministerial levels. However, this was the first time that respective heads of world’s four largest democracies, USA, India, Australia and Japan, came together. The events of 26 January, 2021 at the Red Fort that unfolded as the protesters went berserk before the police sprang into action, have without a doubt shamed the nation in a manner that would not be easy to forget for any right-minded citizen.
