Victoria COVID-19 restrictions: Pregnant Melbourne mums call for ban on partners at ultrasounds to be scrapped

As of today, Victoria has recorded 47 straight days with no local cases of COVID-19. All overarching restrictions for hospital visitors were dropped under the direction of Victoria s Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton three weeks ago. Visitor policies, including for ultrasounds, are now being decided by the hospitals themselves. While some public hospitals have started allowing partners in for ultrasounds, many are still forcing pregnant women to attend them alone, birth trauma counsellor and social worker Tamara Bluhm said.
