The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 23,246 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease in Illinois, including 198 additional deaths. Illinois has had only 2 days during the pandemic with more deaths, both occurred on December of 2020. The IDPH reported 59 new cases of COVID-19 in Wayne County last week. Case numbers in Edwards County jumped by 21, Wabash County by 60, and Hamilton County by 25. Richland County cases increased by 91, Lawrence County by 80, and White County by 46. Marion and Jefferson counties had the biggest jumps in the immediate area at 142 and 99 cases, respectively. As a state, Illinois announced 23,246 new cases and 198 deaths. We are devastated to announce our precious Wheeler Lee Humphrey was taken to her eternal home as she was surrounded by her loving earthly family. The 5 year old daughter of Travis Humphrey and Savannah Creighton, Wheeler, passed away on Friday October 8th, 2021 at St. Louis Children's Hospital. Wheeler was without a doubt a spunky, blue-eyed beauty put on this earth to touch lives. In her 5 years, 4 months, and 21 days, Wheeler touched countless lives and brought smiles to the faces of many.
