Action for Children calls for emotional wellbeing support as Covid lockdown bites

The 14-year-old pupil says she had a particular reason for anxiety during the spring lockdown last year. At the time my sister was pregnant and I was worried about trying to keep her safe, she says. It s a lot different this time - in a way, it s harder, but in another way it s just different, because now we have my nephew with us. Niamh says that this time round, she is finding the pressure of schoolwork harder to deal with, and admits she has found it overwhelming at times. But what has really helped has been the Blues Programme delivered by Action for Children, aimed at helping to support young people to focus on their wellbeing and mental health during lockdown.
