Liz Deschenes with Jean Dykstra

Back in 2000, Liz Deschenes curated a show at the Andrew Kreps Gallery called Photography about Photography, which included thirteen artists and outlined her approach to the medium. That approach might be described as: rigorous, unorthodox, engaged with the materiality of her work as well as with the architecture in which it is shown, and deeply invested in the medium and history of photography (though she rarely uses a camera).

lives but now feel completely let down by the trade. we work hard and pay ourfairshare in down by the trade. we work hard and pay our fair share in taxes, they said. we play our part in the community, we do our bit for the environment, they told us. so why can t we afford decent childcare? why are the road so full of potholes? why people face exorbitant care bills and still not get the care bills and still not get the care they need? it is the same frustration i have been hearing for months from families and businesses across the uk but especially from traditionally conservative voters along the blue wool. theyjust don t feel that boris johnson along the blue wool. theyjust don t feel that borisjohnson represents them, orshares feel that borisjohnson represents them, or shares the values. they are not convinced the prime minister is competent or worse still decent. applause

Policy on the illumination of collection material on display

Sensitivity of media The sensitivity of media to light and the subsequent fading of the colours in a collection item is one of the factors considered when establishing the acceptable amount of light exposure for a collection item. The use of the ISO rating, or Blue Wool (BW) Standard, enables a comparison of the fading that occurs to various types of media. BW 1 is the most responsive to light (meaning it fades the quickest); BW 2 is approximately half as responsive as BW1; and so on to BW 8 which is the least responsive.  The media used in collections can be broadly grouped using their likely responsiveness to light. For example pristine condition watercolours are categorised as BW1 items. They will fade very quickly when exposed to light.
