The key role of hydrogen in the decarbonization puzzle April 26, 2021, by Jasmina Ovcina
Hydrogen has been assigned a major role in the maritime decarbonization puzzle, as it promises to be a cost-effective green alternative for large ocean-going vessels.
“Hydrogen and Fuel Cells (FCs) for maritime transport have been demonstrated in numerous pilot vessels over the last two decades. Recently, the power range of the fuel cell systems has increased from a few hundred KiloWatts (kW) to MegaWatts (MW), making these systems suitable for car ferries and smaller cruise ships,”
