RICHMOND (WINA) – The Virginia Department of Health says it’s monitoring all federal actions regarding the Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccine, and will “cease all Johnson & Johnson vaccines until this investigation is complete. The feds have requested a pause after 6 cases of young women developing blood clots among more than 7-million J&J vaccinations administered overall. The New York Times reports one woman has died, and a 26-year old woman in Nebraska is hospitalized in critical condition. While there is no clear relationship between the vaccine and the clots, the feds say they’re doing this out of abundance of caution. The CDC has ceased administering the J&J vaccine pending investigation, and Virginia COVID vaccination czar Dr. Danny Avula says the Commonwealth is doing the same.
