In its first year, &Mother the nonprofit for athletes who are mothers, co-founded by six-time U.S. 800-meter champion Alysia Montaño took a major step in providing support to Olympic hopefuls.
Partnering with Cadenshae, the nonprofit announced its first three athlete ambassadors. Dawn Harper-Nelson, Olicia Williams, and Sara Vaughn will receive financial contributions and sportswear as they pursue national team selection for the Tokyo Games this summer.
“We want to see [the athletes] thrive not only in their career, but also in their motherhood,” Montaño told
Runner’s World. “And we want to be able to serve in a way where support systems are lacking and just show people the importance of being able to stick up for our moms.”

Despite difficult year Team USATF shined bright If every cloud has a silver lining, the ominous thunderhead that was 2020 will be remembered for some remarkable individual and team efforts in track and field that overcame a global pandemic that shut down normal avenues of training and competition.
Before the pandemic struck in the third month, the year started out filled with excitement and anticipation for the Tokyo Olympic Games and the first U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials in the glittering new Hayward Field.
